2 Days :: 8,300 ft – 5,800 ft Start: 7,040 ft

This overnight camping trip will take us down the Garcia Moreno trail, which in the 1,800’s was the main trail to the coast from Quito. Accompanied by llamas to carry our gear, we will wind around the flanks of Pichincha crater and into prime Cloud forest until we reach the green meadows of the crystal river, where we will set up camp. This crystal clear river is filled with boulders and large pools teaming with trout. This is an ideal place to fish and if you’re brave enough to shrug off the cold water, to swim. The following day we will do some short hikes along the river and then return the same way we came.

15,300 ft – 13,000 ft Start: 13,700

This overnight trip will take us to the rim of the active Pichincha crater. Peering into the crater, you will have impressive views of the dome, fumaroles and explosion craters. Also from the rim of the crater, there are phenomenal views of the entire Ecuadorian Andes, Quito and all the way to Colombia. Volcanic and weather conditions allowing, we will hike to the bottom of the crater where you will feel like you’re on an alien planet. You’ll be able to feel the ash, smell the sulfur and hear the fumaroles. It is quite an experience and one of the few places in the world you can safely be in an active and alive volcano. Option can be done on a camping basis or in the refuge hut.

2-3 Days :: Start: 14,720 ft for either

These packages are designed for people who want to attempt the summit of one of the highest mountains in Ecuador, Cotopaxi (5,897m/ 19,050 ft) or Chimborazo (6,310m/ 20,385 ft). Mountain climbing experience is not necessary since we will spend one day practicing climbing techniques and make sure you are comfortable with your equipment, however, we do recommend you are well acclimatized. The ascent is done early morning (01:00-02:00 AM) and we are generally back at the refuge hut mid day. If you would like to acclimatize, we recommend packages: T 05,T 06, T 12, T 13 & T 15.

13,900 ft – 11,500 ft Start: 11,500 ft

The Condor Trek is amongst the most popular, due to the varied and beautiful terrain covered. The trek starts in the Papallacta area and ends in the Cotopaxi National Park. The trek will take you along beautiful, secluded lakes, through páramo (Ecuadorian tundra) and isolated forests and below the bases of Antisana, Sinchulagua, Rumiñahui, Pasochoa and Cotopaxi mountains. Along the way we will observe a variety of plants, flowers, animals and birds, including the Condor. Fishing can also be done along the many streams and lakes.

Package T 14 Includes the summit of Cotopaxi.

11,500 ft – 14,400 ft Start: 11,500 ft

This trek is best known as “ The Road of the Inca” because we will be using the same trails used by the Incas. This is a great trek that offers a great variety of terrain and different sights. We will trek through indigenous communities and have the opportunity to learn how the locals live. We will have the chance to see Alpacas and other animals plus highland birds. The trek will take us around many lakes and old mines (marble, gold and other stones) and allow us to enjoy impressive views of many mountains, especially Chimborazo and Sangay. The pristine streams and lakes of the area will also allow us to do some fabulous fishing. The trek will end at the famous Ingapirca ruins.
