Guayaquil, also know as the Pearl of the Pacific , is a must visit while in Ecuador, due to its new and extensive Malecón 2000 and renovated downtown. We will visit the most important sites of the city such as the Cathedral, the colorful Las Peñas, the 9 de Octubre avenue, the beautiful Malecon del Salado and the new Malecón 2000 that gives a highlight to the old Boulevard. Here we will find many monuments and parks, of which the most visited are the Rotonda a monument to the greatest liberators Simon Bolivar and San Martín.

The mangroves, rolling hills and lagoons of the Manglares-Churute reserve are an important biological center. This "biodiversity" program begins in Guayaquil and takes us to the Reserve where we will do short hikes around the area where we can admire the beauty of the typical flora and fauna of the region.

The tour starts from either Guayaquil or Manta and heads along the coasts of Guayas and Manta, both famous for their beautiful, pristine beaches. Along the way we will visit small fishing villages, historical and present cultures with their archeological ruins, popular and isolated beaches ranging from white, gold and dark sand beaches and a wide variety of flora, much of which is endemic to the coastal areas of Ecuador. A special focus will be done on the Machalilla National Park. We will visit the Island of La Plata, the Frailes and Tortuga beaches and the community of Agua Blanca, descendents of the Mantas who have preserved their culture for thousands of years. This excursion will give you the opportunity to hike, snorkel, dive, horseback, whale watching and surf.

Every year from June to November, the Humpback Whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) visit these warm waters off the beaches of Manabi and Guayas, which come to breed. Whale watching in this natural environment has become a very popular activity worldwide and the Machalilla National Park has become one of the best places to see their impressive breaching and playful swimming.

The humpback whales we find off of the Machalilla National Park are the ones who migrate from Antarctica swimming away from the austral winter looking for warmer waters; during this period some whales breed and also give birth to their calves.

If you are interested gliding like a fish beneath the water and experiencing a new world, why not get certified to Dive and why not do it in the warm waters of the Machalilla National Park? This course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to enjoy scuba diving. The course consists of classroom, pool sessions and four open water dives. At the conclusion of the course you will receive an International PADI license. Dive courses available: Discover Diving, Amateurs, Open Water, Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water, Emergency First Response Course, Rescue Diver, Master Scuba Diver Course, Divemaster.

This tailored dive program is only for certified divers and include two daily dives at the Machalilla National Park, La Plata Island and other secret spots. The highlights of diving in the Machalilla National Park are the great coral heads and the variety of colorful fish they attract, like Angel fishes, Butterfly fishes, parrot fishes, damsels fishes, scorpion fishes, trumpet fishes, eels, a variety of rays, including Eagle rays, sharks and green turtles.
